1937 Port wine
BARROS Port wine is nowadays famous and appreciated all over the World. Most of its success comes from the Old Tawnies in a single year, and 1937 is one of them.
After harvesting, the grapes were de-stemmed, crushed and vinified. There was a careful maceration of the musts in contact with the skins to extract the maximum colour, tannins and aromas, complemented by permanent reassembly during fermentation. The fermentation occurred in old French oak vats at a controlled temperature between 26-31°C until reaching the desired sweetness point. Wine fortification occurred after the addition of the brandy, originating a fortified wine. It has aged in French oak casks since 1967.
