Rioja Sierra Cantabria Crianza 2021. The Tinto is 100% Tempranillo which spent 6 months in used American and French oak. It is medium ruby-coloured and offers pleasant aromas of Asian spice, cranberry, and red currants. There is good material here with plenty of fruit, light tannin, and a good grip. There is also a sense of elegance. It is a terrific introduction to what Rioja is all about and an excellent value.

The pure Tempranillo 2021 Crianza, a modern classical red from a great year, shows the power, elegance and freshness of the year, with pristine fruit and very integrated oak after it spent 14 years in barrel, some of them American. It has tension and the elegant tannins from the year. It's approachable and will also be long lived. This is one of the finest years for this red that represents very good value. 400,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2024.

Tasting notes, Intense ruby red. The aroma of red fruits (strawberry) in good intensity in conjunction with spice, vanilla and oak notes. The palate is fresh, soft, and balanced, with the fruit well integrated with the letters of oak, vanilla and light toast.
