Tasting Notes by Robert M. Parker, Jr
"This wine has always been a beautiful example of Branaire. It is now fully mature, but it should remain enjoyable for at least a couple more years. The 1966 vintage presents a dark ruby colour with amber at the edges. It boasts a characteristic, intense bouquet of spicy black currants, tar, and truffles, complemented by soft, silky, ripe, and savory flavours with a long finish. The flavours have evolved to be sweeter and more expansive since the late 1980s. It is a lovely success from St.-Julien for the 1966 vintage.
