This house produces a somewhat restrained yet rich and flavourful vintage port, as well as a very good tawny called Nimrod. Their vintage ports appear to take longer to mature, and although they never quite match the voluptuous richness of a Dow, Graham, or Fonseca, they have a unique mineral-scented character that gives them their own complexity and style. The 1980 vintage is currently backward and firm, and has yet to reveal its true personality.
