Three Claret Kings wine gift, 1 bottle of Chateau la Fortune 2016 Margaux, 1 bottle of Badine De La Patache Pomerol and 1 bottle of Chateau des Combes Saint Emilion Grand Cru
Chateau la Fortune 2016 Margaux.
Tasting notes, The Wine Advocate, Neal Martin, 91 Points,
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2016 La Fortune has a very polished bouquet with glossy black fruit, cassis and violet scents, nicely defined and quite modern in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, cohesive and rounded in the mouth, maybe missing a little finesse but you cannot argue with the intense, lightly spiced fruit on the finish. This also has good aging potential so go seek. Tasted September 2017
Badine De La Patache Pomerol 2015.
The 2015 Badine de la Patache Pomerol is from Chateau La Patache. With smells of cherries and red plums which come together with minerals, iron and eucalyptus underlined by hints of graphite and toast, This medium-bodied Pomerol possesses fine-grained tannins with a lovey elegant mouthfeel, with flavors persisting through the finish. Readers should plan on allowing this another year or two of cellaring before it begins to show its best stuff.
Chateau Des Combes Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.
Has a bright ruby colour with purple tints. The nose is powerful, fruity, spicy and complex. It offers black fruits and gingerbread scents. On the palate, the wine is supple and well-balanced. The attack is persistent and delivers blackberry jam and moca aromas.
