Sierra Cantabria Crianza 2019 Rioja wine

The creamy and lactic 2019 Crianza was produced with pure Tempranillo that achieved good ripeness (14%), keeping freshness, the character of the 2019, a drier vintage than average with some heat but not excess, and the ripeness was perfect and the grapes very healthy. This is generously oaked after 14 months in used French and American oak barrels with rackings every six months. Very approachable. 150,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2022

Among the most prestigious estates of Viñedos Sierra Cantaria, La Veguilla stands out. This plot of land of 16,5 hectares has abundance of small calcareous rounded stones on the surface and is planted with Tempranillo and a small percentage of Malvasia and Viura. In this vineyard sheltered from the cold and wet North winds by the Sierra de Cantabria mountain range, the wine Amancio is born. A wine that is the result of a rigorous selection of the bunches –in a vineyard of exceptional qualities and very low yield- exclusively of the bunches that are close to perfection in structure, health and maturity, being those ones no more than 8-10 per cent of the total production.
