Pomerol is the smallest major fine wine appellation in Bordeaux, France, covering approximately 800 hectares of vineyards on the Right Bank of the region. Despite its small geographic size and unassuming landscape, Pomerol is known for producing some of the world's most exclusive, expensive, and collectable red wines, including those from the famous Château Petrus and Château Clinet vineyards.
In 1986, the Despujol family managed Château Nénin. Jean-Hubert Delon (owner of the iconic Léoville Las Cases) later purchased it in 1997 and restructured the vineyards. Consequently, the 1986 vintage reflects a more rustic, traditional, and pre-modern style of Pomerol
