For the Prosecco Spumante Brut NV 75cl
From selected parcels of Glera grapes grown north-east of Treviso. Hand harvested at optimum ripeness to give the required balance between aromatics and good acidity. A gentle pneumatic pressing followed by slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel. Second fermentation takes place in tank, over 4 weeks.
Citrus and green apple aromas, with hints of stone fruit. The palate has more delicate citrus and grapey notes with zesty acidity and a soft and appealing finish.
For the white wine 75cl
Italia produced from selected Pinot Grigio grapes grown in the Veneto. The grapes were hand harvested during the first 2 weeks of September. The grapes were crushed and gently pressed and the juice allowed to settle and clarify before cool fermentation at 16 to 18C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was bottled young after a period of 3 to 6 months ageing on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
A fresh, dry white with gentle floral and citrus aromas. Crisp and delicate on the palate with lightly honeyed fruit balanced by lemony acidity and a fresh, dry finish. 100% Pinot Grigio.
For the Red wine 70cl
Italia Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, An approachable, juicy, pasta-friendly red from the Adriatic coast. Produced from selected parcels of Montepulciano grapes grown in the Chieti province of Abruzzo, on southeast Italy’s Adriatic coast. Hand-harvested from low-yielding 30-50 year old vines. Fermentation takes place in small batches at 28-30ºC, with daily pumping over, and the skins are left in contact with the fermenting wine for 10 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred to Adria’s cellars for a brief maturation prior to bottling.
Aromas and plum and black cherry with a hint of spice. The palate combines ripe, redcurrant and red cherry fruit with more savoury, herbal characters. A rounded red with supple tannins an a hint of mocha on the finish
