Chateau Filhot 1935 wine Sauternes. This is a vast, elegant estate of some 350 hectares with 62 hectares under vine. La Comtesse de Lacarelle bought the property from her brother in 1935.
The year 1935 is of great historical importance for the property for make great puddy wine. In that year, Countess Durieu de Lacarelle, a member of the renowned Lur-Saluces dynasty (owners of Château d’Yquem), purchased the estate from her brother. This acquisition saved the estate from significant neglect following the phylloxera crisis and marked the beginning of a long journey to restore the historic vineyards.
