El Puntido Rioja red wine 2018
Vinedos De Paganos Rioja El Puntido 2018 from Eguren family
Tasting notes, Robert Parker 93 points
The El Puntido is produced from the vineyard planted around the winery that names the wine, a large 25-hectare plot of Tempranillo. Cropped from a cold and wet vintage, it has a floral character not often seen in these wines. It's amazing to see how well some of the wines from such a challenging vintage are turning out, with purity and freshness, keeping the identity but with a perfume that is not that common. Honestly, I prefer this to the warmer and riper years.
Variety
100 % Tempranillo.

Tasting notes
Dark garnet red cherry displays a subtle nose with mineral notes, ripe fruit, liquor and chocolate and a background of white flowers. On the palate, it is powerful, with a good balance between ripe fruit and oak, with round tannins.
