Rioja Sierra Cantabria Crianza 2012 Rioja. The wine was aged for 14 months in used French and American oak and bottled unfiltered
Tasting notes, Robert Parker 89 points
The 2012 Crianza is 100% Tempranillo, aged 14 months in French and American small oak. A rather classic wine, with notes of graphite, black currant and black cherry, roasted herbs, unsmoked cigar tobacco and toasty oak.
Founded in 1957, this Rioja producer has 267 acres in Rioja, all organically farmed. The vine ages are impressive, with the oldest vines planted in 1940 and the most recent ones in 1980.
