The 2012 Crianza is 100% Tempranillo, aged 14 months in French and American small oak. A rather classic wine, with notes of graphite, black currant and black cherry, roasted herbs, unsmoked cigar tobacco and toasty oak.

Founded in 1957, this Rioja producer has 267 acres in Rioja, all organically farmed. The vine ages are impressive, with the oldest vines planted in 1940 and the most recent ones in 1980.
Sierra Cantabria Crianza Rioja. A Tempranillo from La Sonsierra fruity and aromatic, elegant and fresh, sweet tannin, velvety, complex and balanced. At the foot of the Sierra that gives its name to the winery and that protects our estates from the cold north winds, appears San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a town of great winemaking tradition, where our wines are born with a distinctive. VINIFICATION: Traditional, 100 % destemmed. Temperature-controlledfermentation between 26 and 28ºC with indigenous yeast selectedfrom vineyards. Extended maceration on the skins for 24 days, starting with two daily pump-overs and then a light pump-over daily during the last ten days. Barrel: 14,5 months in Bordeaux barrels of French and American oak. Age of the barrels: maximum 3 wines barrels. Racked regularly every 4 months.
