Tasting notes from the 1951 Rivesaltes
The 1951 wine Rivesaltes had a similar colour to the 1953. It was bottled in September 2017. I find that the aromatics here have a little more intent and vigor than the 1953: brown spices and a touch of autumn leaf mixed with fennel and broom. The palate is nicely balanced with a soft texture and a little more sucrosity than other coeval Rivesaltes wine, and perhaps that just detracts slightly from the complexity on the finish. Tasted June 2017. The Wine Advocate.
