1968 wine from Rivesaltes Priory of Monastir Del Camp
This castle is a historical monument since 1826, in the heart of the Catalan country, on the wonderful terroir of Passa, near the capital of natural sweet wines: Thuir.
According to the legend, it was founded by Charlemagne in 785, on his return from the battle of Panissars against the Saracens, hence the name of the "Monastery of the camp".
In 1786, on the eve of the French Revolution, the site was sold by Louis XVI to the Jaubert family of Passa, who still owns it to this day. The Chateau becomes, at that time, a wine estate, specialized from the beginning in natural wines.
As soon as the harvest is over, they are kept in barrels or half a barrel of oak.
It is today a unique historical collection of wonderful wines, whose aromatic palette tells the good moments of the Rivesaltes AOC, in the heart of the twentieth century.
