A hard, take-no-prisoners Port, extremely powerful and still closed when last tasted. Deep inky color, with concentrated blackberry and raisin aromas, full-bodied, with massive raisin flavors, a superb backbone and a very long finish. Wine Spectator.

Fonseca's house style is one of richness and warmth, and lush fruit intensity. While Fonseca may lack the power of Taylor's and Warre's port houses, and the opulence of Graham's, it is without doubt the most voluptuous, exotic and complex of port styles.

The 1985 is a wonderfully feminine, elegant and refined Vintage Port style, rated an impressive 95 points by Wine Spectator. It is also drinking absolutely beautifully right now
