Amarone Classico del Fondatore Italian red wine
Amarone Classico del Fondatore Italian red wine. Dense plum/black colour and complex nose showing notes of black cherry, plum fruit and violets. The palate is smooth and round with a rich raisiny character, supple tannins and a long, and complex, finish. Threatens to be sweet but in fact finishes quite dry.

The late harvested grapes are air dried in wooden racks in special lofts until February of the the following year when they are crushed. The must is fermented in stainless steel for 4 months. The wine is aged, part in French oak casks and part in barrel, for 3 years and then spends a further 6 months in bottle before release.
