His speeches and bulldog approach boosted morale and steered Britain towards victory in the Second World War. If anyone else could have done this task, his name has never been mentioned

Stamp. Defeated at the polls in 1945, Churchill had to wait until 1951 to be brought back to the government. He was succeeded as prime minister be Sir Anthony Eden in 1955, and retired to his home at Chart well. He was awarded honorary citizenship of the United States in 1963. This was possibly his greatest honour. He died at the age of 90 on the 24th January 1965.
