Half Crown

A half crown coin minted during the reign of King George VI 1936 - 1952

Princess Elizabeth came to the throne on the death of her father King George on the 6th February 1952

Princess Elizabeth was born on the 21st April 1926. She married Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh, on the 20th November 1947

Prince Charles was born in 1948, Princess Anne in 1950, Prince Andrew in 1960 and Prince Edward in 1964.

Three Pence

A coin minted during Coronation Year 1953. The coronation was held in Westminster Abbey on the 2nd June 1953.

Crown Coin

A pre-decimal Crown coin which carries the head of Queen Elizabeth II This image was used on all Britain’s pre-decimal coinage.

A decimal coin carrying the modified image of the Queen which was used on Britain’s first decimal coinage.

It was the abdication of Edward VIII in 1936 which led ultimately to Elizabeth becoming Queen and to her mother becoming first Queen and then Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.
