Quattro Vicariati Cabernet-Merlot 2005/06 Italian red wine. Bright, brick red colour. The impact it has on the nose is evidence of its great concentration: ripe red fruits, with hints of blackberry, plum and bilberry, but also vanilla and liquorice with slightly green notes. Distinctive on the palate; with a strong tannic backbone, in perfect balance with the ripe fruit notes. Long in length, it has a spicy finish with hints of bitter chocolate.

This intense, mouthfilling single vineyard wine demonstrates that, from the right site, Teroldego can be one of northern Italy's most interesting and characterful varieties. It has a deep, almost opaque purple-red colour and ripe, opulent aromas of raspberries and damsons. Powerful and full-bodied on the palate, rich berry fruit is balanced by fresh, vibrant acidity and flavours of liquorice and bitter chocolate. Ample fruit and ripe tannins make it drinkable now but with the capacity to improve over 5 years or more in bottle.
